Redevelopment of Chesterfield Market Hall

Image
A number of us are recording the redevelopment of the Market Hall and we can get access to the Hall as the changes take place.  You can see lots more on my flickr archive account - http://www.flickr.com/photos/ken_davis_archive/sets/72157627702794388/ Here is a photo from before the time the project started of the Trophy stall in the main hall: Here is a photo in the same area after the stall holders all left: and now the demolition is underway: in late December it's full of scaffolding:

We had an educational and enjoyable holiday in Normandy in June 2012.  This is a photograph of the Church of Joan of Arc, a recently built church that has striking and effective architecture.  Joan of Arc was burned at the stake in this city by the English but what needs to be remembered is she was condemned by a French court!  It's a long and involved story!
